POSTPONED
With great disappointment, ICUL announces that we will not be holding this year’s 90th annual Illinois Credit Union Convention as planned on April 2-4 at the Chicago Hilton. The rapidly developing news about the pandemic, including Governor Pritzker’s ban on gatherings of more than 1,000 people, has led our leadership to the decision not to move forward with what we expected to be a terrific event. Our team has worked hard over the last year to put together an amazing lineup of speakers, exhibitors, and entertainment, but our overriding concern is the health and welfare of our employees and attendees. While it is very disappointing not to be celebrating the 90th Anniversary of the League with our credit union friends in a few weeks, we are certain not moving forward with the Annual Convention is the right thing to do.
Our Education group is now in the process of trying to unwind all the preparations that have been put in place. Participants will be hearing from us with more details about cancelling hotel rooms and registrations. We are looking at possibly holding an event similar to the Annual Convention sometime this fall. As you can imagine, there are a lot of logistics involved in moving an event of this size so we’ll let you know what we decide to do. We are required to hold the League’s Annual Meeting sometime in April, so we will provide information on how to participate in that meeting.
