As we near the end of 2018 and look forward to beginning another new year, volunteer and staff training should be at the forefront of all credit unions’ 2019 goals and budgets. The Credit Union System offers a myriad of training opportunities which can meet both the credit union’s compliance training needs and also individual duties/responsibilities training. In this ever rapidly changing credit union environment we find ourselves in today, training is becoming vitally important for all levels of your credit union.
Some outstanding credit union training resources to consider are:
• Credit Union National Association (CUNA) – Go to www.cuna.org/learn to check out all CUNA has to offer. Including a complete series of board of directors and staff training;
• Cuna Mutual Group – Go to www.cunamutual.com and click on the Resources tab at the top and then click Webinars and Events. Your Cuna Mutual Representative can also provide information about available training;
• Illinois Credit Union System (ICUL) – Go to www.icul.com/education-networking; and
• National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) – www.ncua.gov. Click on Services and then Resource & Expansion aka Credit Union Resource and Expansion (CURE). You will find free training under “Learning Management Services.”

In addition, check with your Regional Director on training they can provide to your volunteers and staff. Training can be provided at the individual credit union or to the entire chapter.
