ICUL is proud to announce that Jose Garcia, CEO of Northwest Community Credit Union (NWCCU), has been named a Crain’s Chicago Notable Latino Leader. This prestigious recognition honors individuals who have made significant contributions to Chicago’s Latino community and beyond.

García has been instrumental in driving NWCCU’s growth and success, fostering a culture of innovation and community engagement. Under his leadership, the credit union has expanded its services, improved financial literacy programs, and strengthened its commitment to serving underserved communities. He developed a successful partnership with the Illinois Hispanic Chamber of Commerce to provide Latino small business owners access to free business technical assistance. Garcia is on the governor’s board of Credit Union Advisors and the Illinois Credit Union League.
