Steve Gorrie, State Farm FCU CEO


Steve Gorrie will succeed DeWitt as CEO of State Farm FCU on August 1, 2022. Gorrie has been with SFFCU for 13 years and 30 years with State Farm. He has held leadership positions both within the State Farm organization and SFFCU. During his time with SFFCU, he has been the Chief Operations Officer and, his most current role as Chief Financial Officer since 2011, and he has played a critical role in SFFCU’s growth and stability. A lifelong learner, Gorrie has earned his CPCU, CLU, ChFC, and CPA designations and his green belt in Six Sigma/Lean. He has received CUNAs CUCE, NAFCUs NCCO and NCRM, and CUES CCE certifications

June 30, 2022 is a significant date for Kathy McKinnon, CEO of SIUE CU. Exactly 50 years prior to that date, Kathy received her first paycheck from American Steel CU where she began her credit union career.

Welcome Jody Mernack, CEO, Rockford Municipal Employees Credit Union


Jody Mernack is the new CEO for Rockford Municipal Employees Credit Union. She previously held positions at Vibrant CU (2018-2020), DeKalb County CU (2003-2018), MembersAlliance CU (1997-2003), and Greenlee CU (1990-1997). Most recently she worked as a payroll processor (2020-2022) before being named to her current position.


Kathryn Cox – Western Illinois Schools ECU



“We don’t offer a lot of services, so we focus on doing what we do extremely well,” said Kathy Cox, CEO of Western Illinois School Employees Credit Union where she has served for 37 years.

The credit union offers secured loans (auto, boat, camper, motorcycle, etc.), share secured loans and, to assist their membership base of teachers, signature (unsecured) loans which includes a special rate on loans for education.

Kathy is especially proud of the education loans because they are critical for their members career development. “We’ve never had a default on our education loans,” she commented.
