Yesterday morning, the Rockford Area Chapter held it’s Annual Pay It Forward Event at Meg’s Daily Grind Coffee House in Rockford. The Chapter purchased coffee for everyone that came in to the Coffee House between 6:00 a.m. & 7:00 a.m. During that time, a local TV Station, WIFR 23, broadcast their 23 News this Morning weather spots with Aaron Wilson from our location. After Aaron’s weather update, he interviewed 2 different Chapter Board Members (Lorna Cote – Cornerstone CU & Matt Lynch – MembersAlliance CU) and talked about International CU Day, benefits of joining a CU, the IL CU Kind Day. Rockford Area CUs were highlighted during 5 different spots during the hour.
They also asked everyone to select their favorite charity for a raffle. They Chapter donated $237 (the number of credit unions in Illinois) to the name drawn at the end of the event. The winner was the Rockford Rescue Mission.
