Group Scholarship Eligibility Requirements & Application Form

IMPORTANT INFORMATION – CU CEO must approve all ICU Foundation scholarship applications or the requests will not be considered.  Electronic applications will be forwarded for CEO approval.

Only applications submitted using the online forms will be accepted.

  • Applicant must be an Illinois Credit Union League-affiliated credit union listed on the application at the time the scholarship is used or the award will automatically be forfeited. In the case of a chapter, the credit unions benefiting from the scholarship must be League affiliated.
  • Scholarships are available throughout the year on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Recipient credit union or chapter will be reimbursed after course is successfully completed.
  • Recipient must use scholarship during the year it is awarded and for the purpose stated on the application.
  • The range for group scholarship awards is up to $5,000 (beginning 1/1/2024).
  • Special eligibility requirements may be separately set for certain discretionary fund scholarships.
  • Application deadlines may be established for certain conferences or events.
  • Applications will be considered as long as scholarship funds are available.
  • Recipients must use scholarship awards during the year they are awarded. Exceptions can be made at the discretion of the ICU Foundation Executive Director on a case-by-case basis.
  • Scholarship funds may be used for the following educational sessions: America’s Credit Unions School or Conference, Illinois CU League Session, Certification Program, College Program; Self-Study Program, Vendor-Sponsored Session, CU-Affiliated Organization Session, Other. Education sessions which do not fall into any of the specified categories and are legitimate programs comprise the Other category.
