ICUL is seeking new members for the YPA Committee to serve a one-year term, beginning in 2025. This opportunity will put you in the driver’s seat for our two signature YP events - The 2025 YP Conference and the 2025 CRASH of Annual Convention. The committee will also aim to coordinate and execute some additional engagement initiatives throughout the year that involve community outreach and YP connections.

The Young Professional Advisory Committee will meet minimally 6 times a year remotely and once being at the Naperville office to help plan and promote ICUL YP events. The mission of group is to collaborate and grow YP events and opportunities in order to develop young credit union professionals through education and networking in order to create and retain a strong, passionate workforce of future credit union leaders.

  • Assist in planning and facilitating YP events for young Illinois credit union professionals, which include but are not limited to the YP Conference, Crash SLS, & Crash the Annual Convention.
  • Provide input on events, speakers, topics, and venues throughout the year.
  • Members are strongly encouraged to attend all events and meetings.
  • Members must share and/or repost all social media postings that ICUL posts as well as original posts of their own promoting YP happenings.

Increase Young Professional Engagement: Aim to boost participation in events by 10% over the next year through targeted outreach and personalized invitations to young professionals in Illinois credit unions.

Enhance Professional Development Opportunities: Develop and implement at least one new program or workshop focused on skill-building, leadership, and career advancement tailored to the needs of young professionals within the next 12 months.

Foster Networking and Collaboration: Establish a mentorship program connecting young professionals (Crasher specifically) with experienced leaders in the credit union industry to encourage knowledge-sharing, professional growth, and a stronger sense of community, aiming to pair at least 10 mentor-mentee pairs in the first year.

  • The advisory group will consist of up to 10 members, including 1-2 YPAC Ambassador (Total of 12 members)
  • Each member MUST representing a different CU in Illinois
  • Age of 40 or younger OR 40 at heart
  • Willing to promote YPAC in all ways.
  • Willing and able to provide constructive feedback to help further shape and improve the YP Program
  • Commit to attending up to 8, one hour-long virtual meetings annually
  • Applicants must also have committed support from their supervisor/manager to serve in this leadership role
  • Commitment: 1 year, however with Manager approval, they can stay on for 2 years total
  • FREE registration and hotel for YP Conference and Annual Convention (Crash)
