Naperville, Ill. (July 2026) — As part of ongoing advocacy efforts on behalf of Illinois’ credit unions and their member-owners, the Illinois Credit Union League (ICUL), in partnership with the Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago (FHLB Chicago), welcomed Congressman Sean Casten for a legislative discussion on issues impacting the financial services industry.

Hosted by Healthcare Associates Credit Union, the meeting brought together credit union leaders from across the region to engage directly with Rep. Casten during the current in-district work period. The conversation focused on key legislative priorities and the important role credit unions play in strengthening communities and supporting financial well-being.

ICUL appreciates Congressman Casten’s thoughtful insights and willingness to hear firsthand how credit unions—member-owned, not-for-profit financial cooperatives—are delivering value through lower loan rates, better savings options, and personalized service. These in-district visits are critical opportunities for lawmakers to see the “people helping people” mission in action and understand the positive impact credit unions have on individuals, families, and local economies.
