A virtual Mortgage Loan Originator Workshop is available on March 18–19, 2026 designed to help credit union professionals meet periodic training requirements while gaining a deeper understanding of the mortgage lending process. 

The two half-days workshop offers a comprehensive look at mortgage origination from application through closing, along with key compliance considerations and is offered in conjunction with the Michigan Credit Union League. It is ideal for new loan originators and experienced professionals who need to satisfy training under Section 1026.36 of Regulation Z. 

Sessions will cover loan originator basics, application and underwriting requirements, closing and servicing procedures and fair lending considerations. Attendees will also learn about federal laws and regulations that impact mortgage origination. The workshop will be led by Michael R. Christians, a nationally recognized compliance expert.
